The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is an unbelievable battle of the best-of-the-best in Texas Hold’em at the RIO in Las Vegas, Nevada. Season 7 for the World Poker Tour will start broadcasting on January 4th on Fox Sports Net.

And the World Poker Tour (WPT) is a series of high stakes global tournaments that are televised on Fox Sports Net to fans across the planet, with the final face off taking place at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Day 1A, 1B, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic tournament has been completed. Other finished tournaments can be read in this site later below.

The Circuit Tournament at Harrah’s Atlantic City has completed and the news on Events #10, #12, #13 and #14 are below for you.

The latest news has some players saying the buying for the Main Event should be raised to $250,000! If you don’t believe it, scroll down to the December 15th link to the story and read it.

Day 1
A total of 179 players paid the $5,120 entry fee to make a pool of $867,000. Cash will reach the the top 18 in the event.

All players started with 20,000 in chips. Seen at the tables were Chris Reslock, Will “The Thrill” Failla, Chicago Bears superbowl champion quarterback Jim McMahon, John Spadavecchia and Doug “Rico” Carli.
All players started with 20,000 in chips and the winner will get a freeroll seat to the 2009 WSOP Main Event worth $10,000 as part of the spoils of becoming champion.

Last year’s champion John Racener as well as the 2006 champion Rick Rosetti was both eliminated on Day 1.
Even Jim McMahon could not pull this one off as he was also sent to the sidelines. By the time Day 1 was over, there were 35 players left.

Day 2
Action got underway at 2:00 pm and Dan Shak went out in the first 15 minutes of play as his all-in move with paired Jacks lost to a player who made paired Kings.
John Spadavecchia went to the rail after his push to the center with pocket J’s lost to the two pair of Dwyte Pilgrim.

Dwyte Pilgrim sustained to have fortune on his side to make the final table. And it took just 6 hours for the names for the final table to be predictable.

Day 3 Final Table
It took just under 6 hours to finish the final table play. On the last hand for the heads up between Phillip Reed and Brent Roberts, there was a raise and call with both players seeing a flop of 9c 8d Ks.
After a raise and re raise, Reed goes all-in (Js Qd) and was instantly called by Roberts (8s 9d). With a turn card of 2s and a river card of 5d, the two pair of Brent Roberts (8’s and 9’s) held up and made him the new winner of this circuit event.

This was one of two 1 day events that were held. 184 players moved forward to the tables, each paying $340 for the right to do so. A pool of $36,800 was shaped and went to the top 18 finishers.
